Editorial & Corrections Policy

We do not receive free products, and we do not test products in a lab. Every review is built from sources we can point to:

• Retailer listing data — specifications, price, stock status, and images, read from the product page at the moment we publish or update the review. The source listing is linked on every review.
• Aggregated buyer ratings — the star rating and review count shown are the retailer’s own totals, reproduced unchanged. We never compute, round, or invent a rating of our own.
• Recurring themes in buyer feedback — the pros and cons summarise what verified buyers repeatedly report, not our own hands-on impressions.

Our editors share a single publishing account, so the name on a review is chosen by the editor at the moment they publish it. Our team page lists each editor’s role and a contact address that reaches them directly.

We don’t publish author biographies. We’d rather show you a name, a role, and a working email address than pad out a profile page with career history that doesn’t change whether a review is accurate.

Reviews published before we introduced per-editor bylines carry the CandorPick Editorial Team byline instead. We haven’t gone back and attached names to them, because nobody signed off on them individually at the time.

We use a large language model to summarise the source data above into readable prose. It is a summarisation step over facts we already hold — it is not asked to supply specifications, prices, ratings, or claims from its own knowledge, and generated text is constrained to the listing data passed into it. An editor reads the result and checks it against the source listing before it is published under their name.

What that means for you: our reviews are a faithful, readable digest of a product listing and its buyer feedback. They are not a substitute for a hands-on review from a publication that physically tests hardware, and we won’t pretend otherwise.

Assigning a score out of ten implies we evaluated the product ourselves. We haven’t, so we don’t. The only rating on a CandorPick review is the retailer’s aggregate buyer rating, clearly labelled as such — in the page text and in the structured data search engines read.

We have no commercial relationship with the manufacturers or retailers whose products we cover. No brand can pay for a review, for a better write-up, or to have a review removed. If a review ever carries an affiliate link, it will be disclosed on that page, and the link never affects what the review says.

Prices and stock move constantly. Each review shows its publication date and, where it differs meaningfully, the date it was last updated. Treat any price or availability as accurate at the update date and confirm on the retailer’s site before buying.

If something on this site is wrong, we want to fix it, and we’d rather hear about it from you than leave it up.

• We aim to acknowledge reports within two business days.
• Factual errors are corrected as soon as we can verify them, and the review’s update date is changed to reflect it.
• If a correction materially changes the recommendation, we note what changed at the top of the review rather than editing it silently.
• Reviews whose source listing has been withdrawn, or that we can no longer stand behind, are removed rather than left up.
