In line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidance on endorsements and similar rules in the UK and EU, we want to be upfront about how CandorPick makes money and what that means for you.
1.What an affiliate link is
Some of the links on CandorPick that take you to a retailer are affiliate links. If you click one and then buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission. You pay exactly the same price — the commission comes out of the retailer’s share, not your pocket.
2.Programs we take part in
We may also take part in affiliate programs run by other retailers and affiliate networks. Links in our articles can therefore earn a commission from more than one company.
3.It never changes what we say
Our editors choose what to write about and what to recommend before any link is added, and we write about products whether or not they earn us anything. A commission never buys a place in an article, a better write-up, or the removal of criticism.
We do not accept payment or free products from brands in exchange for coverage. If that ever changes for a specific article — a gifted item or a sponsored piece — the article will say so clearly at the top.
4.How you can tell
Every article that may contain affiliate links carries a short notice near the top, before any links, so you know before you click. Affiliate links are also marked as sponsored in the page code, as search engines ask.
5.Advertising
CandorPick may also show display advertising. Ads are served by third-party networks, are visually separate from our articles, and have no influence on editorial content. See the Privacy Policy for how ad networks use cookies.
6.Why we do it
Commissions help pay for the time it takes to research and write every article, and let us keep the site free to read. Thank you — if you do buy through our links, you are supporting the work directly.
